It is helpful but not necessary. You can use the app to do shadow boxing at home, then already know the combos you want to master on a boxing bag when you hit the gym.

Tip: For a sweaty, challenging training, try shadow boxing with dumbbells in your hands!

No, this app is not for total beginners. Nobody is able to learn boxing or any other martial art on their own. You need an instructor to teach you the basics and guide you. We don’t recommend you use the app unless you’ve already completed an introductory course in your combat sport (at least a few months of training).

There are two versions: free and premium. With the free version, you get three full workouts (one in every discipline) and a boxing round timer (without ads). If you want to unlock all the workouts and other features, you’ll need to upgrade to premium. But don’t worry, a monthly subscription costs less than a one-time visit to most of the gyms. And it’s worth it!
